Job summary

Chain Electric Company is seeking an experienced A-Lineman to perform skilled electrical work in the construction, maintenance and operation of electrical distribution and transmission systems. The role may involve supervising others and requires safe, efficient performance under various weather conditions.

Lineman duties include climbing poles, installing equipment, testing lines, splicing cables, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

4 years' directly related experience.
Available to work irregular hours and travel on short notice.
Possess at minimum a valid CDL-B license.
Possess your own tools.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Ability to read and follow instructions.
Ability to handle physically demanding construction duties in harsh weather conditions.
Ability to hear long distances.
Ability to see long distances and differentiate colors, depth perception, peripheral vision.
Ability to work without supervision.
Ability to communicate well with others.

Responsibilities

Adhere to safety practices and procedures, such as checking equipment regularly and erecting barriers around work areas.
Open switches or attach grounding devices to remove electrical hazards and facilitate repairs.
Climb poles or use bucket trucks to access equipment.
Safely construct, maintain, and repair electrical distribution systems and substations.
Inspect and test power lines and equipment to locate problems using testing instruments.
Splice or solder cables and lay underground cables in trenches.
