Job summary

Core Specialty Insurance Holdings, Inc. is seeking an experienced claims professional to manage complex Commercial Garage and General Liability claims. You will coordinate defense with counsel, analyze coverage, and monitor reserves while communicating with underwriting and management.

Relevant licenses and a college degree are required, with at least five years’ experience. Some travel is expected; the role supports a hybrid work arrangement in the United States.

Qualifications

• Adjusting license required.
• College degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum five years’ experience handling Commercial Garage and/or General Liability claims.
• Ability to travel.
• Ability to negotiate and be persuasive.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide early contact with insured to identify witnesses, employees, contracts and other documents.
• Analyse coverage and prepare coverage position letters and reserve reviews.
• Communicate with underwriting regarding risk potential and policy language.
• Maintain diaries, oversee defense counsel and develop settlement strategies.
• Prepare internal reports and present reserve changes to management.
• Monitor litigation budgets and approve/reject expenses.
• Attend mediation and settlement conferences as needed.
• Prepare settlement drafts and review releases for accuracy.
