Job summary

RLI Insurance Company is seeking an experienced claims professional to manage high-exposure general liability cases across the United States. A Bachelor's in business or related field is expected, with 8+ years in legal or insurance claims; a JD is beneficial.

You will oversee investigation, coverage analysis, damages evaluation, and litigation management, coordinating with underwriters and defense counsel. The role supports hybrid work arrangements and a robust total rewards program.

Qualifications

• Experience handling general liability claims involving bodily injury and property damage across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong knowledge of case law, statutes, and procedures impacting claim value.
• Proactive investigation and strategic claim handling with attorney management.

Responsibilities

• Handle high-exposure, complex bodily injury and property damage claims nationwide (excluding NY).
• Manage all aspects of claim-handling: investigation, coverage, evaluation, litigation management.
• Develop and implement resolution strategies and lead mediations and trials when appropriate.
• Select and direct defense counsel on litigated cases; communicate with Underwriting on trends.
• Lead special projects; travel occasionally for mediations and trials.
