Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a civil engineer to perform reviews and develop preliminary civil designs for utility-scale power projects. You will work with multidisciplinary teams, translating complex technical data into actionable information for stakeholders involved in development, design, construction, and finance.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, 10+ years of design experience, and proficiency with major civil software.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
10+ years of experience in design techniques, tools, and principles for technical plans, drawings, calculations and models.
5+ years in detailed design of site grading, drainage, stormwater, road design, transport plans, track design, and ponds.
Proficiency with civil engineering software such as ArcGIS Pro, AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD, StormCAD, PondPack, FLO-2D Pro, and AutoTURN.

Responsibilities

Perform civil engineering reviews including storm water drainage, sanitary sewer systems, road design, and earthwork.
Support preparation of general arrangement drawings with other disciplines.
Prepare preliminary civil designs including grading, erosion control, drainage, and access roads with BOQ.
Prepare and review technical specifications to define construction requirements.
Advise power project developers.
Evaluate new power and infrastructure projects to support financing.
Develop technical reports for owners, developers, governmental agencies, committees, and financiers.
