Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a senior civil engineer to perform reviews and develop preliminary civil designs for power project sites across the U.S. This remote position allows you to base anywhere in the United States while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.

You will handle grading, drainage, road design, stormwater, and related specifications, supporting owners, developers, and financiers with technical analysis and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required; master's degree is a plus.
• 10+ years of design experience for technical plans and models.
• 5+ years in site grading, drainage, and road/transport design.
• Proficiency with listed civil software (ArcGIS Pro, Civil 3D, HydroCAD, etc.).
• Experience with power plant project design.
• Ability to write civil engineering specs and calculations.
• Strong team collaboration and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform civil engineering reviews including storm water drainage and road design.
• Support preparation of general arrangement drawings with other disciplines.
• Prepare preliminary civil designs including grading, erosion control and access roads.
• Prepare and review technical specifications for construction requirements.
• Advise power project developers.
• Evaluate new power and infrastructure projects to support financing.
• Develop technical reports for owners, developers, governmental agencies, and financiers.
