Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a civil engineer with 1–2 years of design experience for work on diverse power plant projects. The role involves developing civil site designs, performing calculations, and preparing specifications and 3-D design drawings.

A BSCE from an ABET-accredited program is required, with strong teamwork and communication skills. The position follows a hybrid schedule (in-office 3 days per week) with opportunities to travel to client offices and plant sites as needed.

Qualifications

• BSCE from ABET-accredited program.
• 1–2 years of design experience in producing technical plans, drawings and models.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate clearly.
• US work authorization; we do not sponsor visas.

Responsibilities

• Work on a wide range of power plant projects and perform civil site development, including calculations and specifications.
• Prepare calculations for storm water drainage, sanitary sewer systems, earthwork and disposal fields.
• Prepare technical specifications to define construction requirements.
• Create site layout, grading and drainage designs.
• Design storm sewers, roads, trackwork, water storage and wastewater ponds and landfills.
• Collaborate with Designers to depict designs in 3-D models and drawings.
• Review shop drawings and vendor documents for conformity with specs.
• Possibly travel to client offices or plant sites for design reviews and field verification.
