Job summary
Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior civil engineer to perform civil reviews and preliminary designs for utility-scale power projects. You will translate complex technical information into actionable guidance for project stakeholders across multi-disciplinary teams, including design, finance, and operations.
The ideal candidate has a BS in civil engineering, 10+ years design experience, and proficiency with ArcGIS Pro and Civil 3D.
Qualifications
- BS in civil engineering required; MS in civil/structural eng or MBA preferred.
- 10+ years in design techniques for civil engineering plans.
- 5+ years in site grading, drainage, road design, transport plans.
- Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, Civil 3D, HydroCAD, StormCAD, PondPack, FLO-2D Pro, AutoTURN.
- Power plant project design experience.
- Strong technical report writing and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Perform civil engineering reviews including storm water drainage and road design.
- Support preparation of general arrangement drawings with other disciplines.
- Prepare preliminary civil designs: grading, erosion control, drainage, access roads.
- Prepare and review specifications to define construction requirements.
- Advise power project developers.
- Evaluate new power and infrastructure projects to support financing.
- Develop technical reports for owners, developers, governmental agencies, and financiers.
