Job summary

WSP USA in Austin, TX is seeking a Lead Civil Engineer to join our Facilities team. You will lead site civil design from concept through construction on complex facility projects, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate has 7–10 years of civil engineering experience, a BS in Civil Engineering, and strong skills in grading, drainage, stormwater, and utilities. PE preferred; opportunity to grow into project leadership within a global firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
• 7-10 years of relevant civil engineering experience.
• Ability to perform work requiring independent judgment, adaptation, and modification of engineering principles and procedures.
• Experience in land development, municipal utility design, water resources or environmental engineering.
• Proficiency in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrologic analysis, grading, and site development design.
• Strong organizational skills and effective written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform site civil design including grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater management for facility projects.
• Develop design solutions using AutoCAD Civil 3D and terrain modeling tools to support 3D coordination and visualization.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, clients, and contractors.
• Support permitting and regulatory agency coordination.
• Assist with construction administration and respond to field questions as needed.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and contribute to overall project success.
• Apply WSP’s quality management processes, including QA/QC reviews.
• Demonstrate sound engineering judgment while adapting and applying engineering principles, codes, and standards.
• Grow toward leading projects with guidance, mentoring, and oversight from senior engineers.
