Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead civil design teams across a broad range of projects including power, healthcare, aviation and government facilities. You will guide design from concept through construction, adapting to budgets and client needs while ensuring compliance with codes and industry standards.

Responsibilities include preparing data sheets, RFQs and bid summaries, reviewing vendor drawings, managing schedules and budgets, and mentoring engineers.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree with PE/FE pathway preferred and 7+ years experience in civil projects.
• Experience leading discipline design for large projects and delegating tasks to teams.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM, Civil 3D and related analysis tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to write specifications and reports.
• PE license preferred; willingness to travel for projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil design teams from concept through design completion for diverse projects.
• Prepare civil equipment data sheets, RFQs, and technical bid summaries.
• Review vendor drawings; interface with suppliers, clients and other disciplines.
• Develop project schedules, budgets and staffing plans; manage change orders.
• Quality review drawings and field coordination to ensure constructability.
• Provide leadership, mentorship and QA/QC for civil engineering practice.
• Build relationships with clients and pursue new business opportunities.
