Job summary

Ensono is seeking a Senior CICS Mainframe Systems Programmer to provide premium software support and services to our mainframe clients as they relate to CICS. This role focuses on CICS TS, z/OS, and related OEM products, handling customer service orders and primary issue resolution, with 24 x 7 operations across multiple time zones.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years with the zSeries platform, strong SMP/E knowledge, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years experience on the zSeries (mainframe) platform including hands-on installation and maintenance related to CICS TS and OEM product support.
• Thorough working knowledge of CICS TS and related OEM products installation and tailoring.
• Thorough working knowledge of IBM SMP/E.
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of CICS TS concepts, configuration and tailoring.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools for CICS TS regions.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Ability to multi-task and work under deadlines and pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team or independently.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill customer service orders (CSOs) for mainframe z/OS customers relating to CICS TS and OEM software.
• Provide primary support for reported problems related to CICS TS and OEM products.
• Provide 24 x 7 x 365 support across multiple time zones.
• Follow procedures for installing OEM software products per standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with other teams to prepare partitions for annual OS upgrades.
• Support customer migration services related to CICS TS and OEM products.
• Assist project managers in migrating new customers and addressing technical hurdles.
• Support disaster recovery plans with Disaster Recovery Services.
• Adhere to schedules to manage resources and enable timely implementations.
• Follow ITSM change control procedures and implement fixes and upgrades.
