Job summary

Ensono is seeking a Senior CICS Mainframe Systems Programmer to provide premium support for CICS TS on z/OS across Ensono’s mainframe clients. The role requires extensive hands-on mainframe experience and the ability to work across time zones, including after-hours coverage.

The position emphasizes installing OEM software, migration support for new customers, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, high-quality service delivery. A bachelor’s degree is required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience on the zSeries (mainframe) platform with hands-on installation and maintenance of products related to CICS TS and OEM product support.
• Thorough working knowledge of CICS TS concepts, configuration and tailoring.
• Experience with IBM SMP/E.
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of CICS TS concepts.
• Experience with monitoring tools for CICS TS regions.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with multi-tasking under deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentations).

Responsibilities

• Fulfill customer service orders (CSOs) for mainframe z/OS customers related to CICS TS and OEM products.
• Provide primary support for reported CICS TS issues and OEM products.
• Provide 24 x 7 x 365 support in multiple time zones.
• Follow procedures for installing OEM software products per Ensono standards.
• Assist in preparing customer partitions for annual OS upgrade via proactive actions checklist.
• Support customer migrations related to CICS TS and OEM products.
• Assist migration of newly acquired customers to address technical hurdles on schedule.
• Coordinate with Disaster Recovery Services for disaster recovery plans.
• Adhere to ITSM change control procedures.
• Implement vendor product fixes and upgrades to z/OS products.
