Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking an Automation Engineer on the Engineering Systems team to move our build and deployment pipelines forward. You will automate code signing, encryption and certificate workflows across Windows, Linux and Mac, while ensuring secure, scalable, and auditable processes.

This role requires Python proficiency, Groovy/Jenkins experience, and strong CI/CD discipline. You will collaborate with global teams and support on-call rotations in a dynamic, AI-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering or DevOps/build engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
• Deep knowledge of encryption/PKI concepts (public/private key pairs, certificate authorities, hashing/signing algorithms) as they relate to code signing.
• Experience writing Groovy for Jenkins pipeline development (Jenkinsfiles, shared libraries).
• Proven capabilities operating, administering, and troubleshooting CI/CD platforms (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab).
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with configuration tools such as Ansible, Chef, and or Salt.
• Familiarity with public cloud APIs (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Familiarity with build/release engineering and software development lifecycles.
• Ability to work collaboratively with development teams to support and improve build/release processes.
• Collaborate effectively with global, cross-functional teams across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities

• Manage code signing for binaries, packages, and software artifacts across multiple platforms (Windows, Linux, Mac).
• Manage certificate lifecycles, including issuance, renewal, revocation, and storage.
• Design, implement, and maintain encryption, certificate, and code signing frameworks with automation.
• Identify opportunities to improve operation of existing systems.
• Drive end-to-end improvements from design to delivered product for internal customers.
• Produce clear and maintainable code with minimal oversight.
• Provide documentation for users of the tools created.
• Perform code reviews and on-call build engineer tasks.
• Troubleshoot build, packaging, and deployment failures across systems.
• Work as a remote employee and collaborate across time zones.
