Job summary

CrowdStrike, a leader in cybersecurity, seeks an automation engineer to advance build, test, signing, and deployment pipelines for cloud-based software. You will design and maintain encryption and signing frameworks, automate CI/CD and onboarding tooling, and collaborate with global teams.

Responsibilities include managing code signing lifecycles, scripting in Python, and driving end-to-end improvements, while staying security-minded and proactive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering or DevOps/build engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
• Deep knowledge of encryption/PKI concepts (public/private key pairs, certificate authorities, hashing/signing algorithms) as they relate to code signing.
• Experience writing Groovy for Jenkins pipeline development (Jenkinsfiles, shared libraries).
• Proven capabilities operating, administering, and troubleshooting CI/CD platforms (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab).
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with configuration tools such as Ansible, Chef, and or Salt.
• Experience automating virtualization environments (e.g. VMWare).
• Familiarity with public cloud APIs (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Familiarity with build/release engineering and software development lifecycles.
• Ability to work collaboratively with development teams to support and improve build/release processes.
• Collaborate effectively with global, cross-functional teams across multiple time zones.
• Must exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and have the ability to make good, timely decisions.
• Demonstrate self-learning capabilities and taking initiative in a fast pace/quickly changing environment.
• Security mindset, general understanding of cybersecurity principles and how to work within its limits.
• Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage code signing for binaries, packages, and software artifacts across multiple platforms (Windows, Linux, Mac).
• Manage certificate lifecycles, including issuance, renewal, revocation, and storage.
• Design, implement, and maintain encryption, certificate, and code signing frameworks and automation.
• Identify opportunities to improve operation of existing systems.
• Drive end-to-end improvements from design to delivery for internal customers.
• Produce clear and maintainable code with minimal oversight.
• Provide documentation for users of the tools created.
• Perform code reviews.
• Triage on-call build engineer tasks and troubleshoot build/deploy issues.
• Collaborate with remote, global teams across time zones.
