Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking an Automation Engineer on the Engineering Systems team to maintain and enhance build, test, signing, and deployment pipelines for our cloud-based software. You will design automation solutions to improve reliability and scale, work across Windows, Linux, and Mac platforms, and collaborate with global teams.

The role emphasizes Python scripting, Groovy for Jenkins, and strong CI/CD expertise, with remote work flexibility and a path to impact at scale.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship or Green Card/permanent resident status
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of professional software engineering or DevOps/build engineering experience
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation
• Deep knowledge of encryption/PKI concepts (public/private key pairs, certificate authorities, hashing/signing algorithms) as they relate to code signing
• Experience writing Groovy for Jenkins pipeline development (Jenkinsfiles, shared libraries)
• Proven capabilities operating, administering, and troubleshooting CI/CD platforms (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab)
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with configuration tools such as Ansible, Chef, and or Salt
• Experience automating virtualization environments (e.g. VMWare)
• Familiarity with public cloud APIs (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Familiarity with build/release engineering and software development lifecycles
• Ability to work collaboratively with development teams to support and improve build/release processes
• Collaborate effectively with global, cross-functional teams across multiple time zones.
• Must exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and have the ability to make good, timely decisions.
• Demonstrate self-learning capabilities and taking initiative in a fast pace/quickly changing environment.
• Security mindset, general understanding of cybersecurity principles and how to work within its limits
• Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage code signing for binaries across Windows, Linux, and Mac (Azure, Mac OS/iOS, Android, Linux)
• Manage certificate lifecycles, including issuance, renewal, revocation, and storage
• Design, implement, and maintain encryption, certificate, and code signing frameworks
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve operation of existing systems
• Drive end-to-end improvements from design to delivery for internal customers
• Produce clear and maintainable code with minimal oversight
• Provide documentation for tool users
• Perform code reviews
• On-call build engineer duties: plan/pipeline changes, troubleshooting, maintenance/restoration
• Troubleshooting and remediating build, packaging, deployment failures
• Serve as on-call rotation member
• Work productively as a remote employee
