Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking an Automation Engineer for the Engineering Systems team. You will manage code signing and certificate lifecycles across platforms, design encryption and signing frameworks, and automate build pipelines to scale with the cloud-first deployment model.

You will collaborate with global teams, support on-call rotations, and continuously improve build/release processes while applying a security-minded approach and AI-enabled insights to optimize workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering or DevOps/build engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
• Deep knowledge of encryption/PKI concepts as they relate to code signing.
• Experience writing Groovy for Jenkins pipeline development (Jenkinsfiles, shared libraries).
• Proven capabilities operating, administering, and troubleshooting CI/CD platforms (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab).
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with configuration tools such as Ansible, Chef, and/or Salt.
• Experience automating virtualization environments (e.g. VMWare).
• Familiarity with public cloud APIs (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Familiarity with build/release engineering and software development lifecycles.
• Ability to work collaboratively with development teams to support and improve build/release processes.
• Collaborate effectively with global, cross-functional teams across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities

• Manage code signing for binaries, packages, and software artifacts across Windows, Linux, and Mac.
• Manage certificate lifecycles including issuance, renewal, and revocation.
• Design and maintain encryption, certificate, and code signing frameworks and automation tools.
• Identify opportunities to improve operation of existing systems.
• Drive end-to-end improvements from design to delivery for internal customers.
• Produce clear, maintainable code with minimal oversight and provide user documentation.
• Perform code reviews and on-call build engineer tasks.
• Troubleshoot build, packaging, and deployment failures and assist in incident response.
• Collaborate with global teams to support and enhance release processes.
