Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• Proficiency with engineering hand calculations is required.
• CFD analysis codes such as STAR-CCM+, Fluent, or similar are used.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical/physical concepts, design SSCs for nuclear products or facilities with a focus on nuclear safety.
• Identify, collect, and document requirements, interfaces, design basis and criteria with stakeholders and systems engineers.
• Plan and perform analysis to ensure SSCs meet technical specifications and design requirements.
• Perform computations for structural, thermal, hydraulic and other calculations as required.
• Provide heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and particulate mechanics analysis to support reactor design and subsystems.
• Develop, test and verify CFD models to support design and licensing basis.
• Assess manufacturability, assembly and integration considerations.
• Write design documentation and V&V plans for analytical tools.
