Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline from an accredited university or college.
• Typically ten years of engineering experience; graduate degrees count as two+ years.
• Experience in designing and developing mechanical or fluid systems, hardware ownership, and CAD/PLM usage.
• UG/NX, SolidWorks, Pro-Engineer, Teamcenter, Windchill or similar CAD/PLM software experience.

Responsibilities

• Manages mechanical design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects per standard engineering practices and requirements.
• Lead team responsible for mechanical design of advanced reactor plants to inform design, manufacturing, construction and licensing strategy.
• Manages engineering resources across multiple projects and ensures qualified engineers perform work.
• Adjudicates technical differences to determine best option and fosters constructive engineering dialogue.
• Lead design cycle sprints and coordinate convergence of efforts to deliver high-quality work on schedule and within budget.
• Manage staff performance and promote professional development.
• Influence strategy, methodology, and tools, including resource control and policy formulation.
• Interpret business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, tools, or services.
• Make high-level decisions on complex tasks within operations, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.
• Provide advisory scope and effort estimates for areas needing support.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to create the next generation nuclear power plants.
• Follow design control procedures and document work, reviews, and configuration data control.
• Maintain professional demeanor in all communications.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
