Job summary

X Energy, LLC seeks an engineer to design and develop mechanical systems, structures, and components for nuclear products, ensuring performance and compliance with technical specs. The role includes concept development, analysis, prototyping, testing, and commissioning under established quality procedures.

Responsibilities cover SSC evaluation, CFD model development, manufacturing considerations, and verification/validation planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
• Proficiency with engineering hand calculations is required.
• Experience and/or knowledge in CFD analysis codes (e.g., STAR-CCM+, Fluent, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical/physical concepts, design and support development of structures, systems, and components for nuclear products or facilities with a focus on nuclear safety.
• Identify, collect, and document requirements, interfaces, design basis and criteria with stakeholders and engineers.
• Plan and perform analysis to ensure SSCs meet technical specifications and design requirements.
• Perform computations using hand calculations and analytical tools for structural, thermal, hydraulic analyses as needed.
• Provide CFD model development, verification, and validation to support design and licensing basis.
