Job summary

X-energy is seeking a CFD/Thermal Hydraulics Engineer III-IV in the Gaithersburg/Rockville area and on-site at 9801 Washingtonian Blvd, Gaithersburg, MD. The role focuses on design and development of mechanical systems for nuclear products, with emphasis on CFD, heat transfer and safety assessments.

You will lead analyses, develop documentation, and validate analytical tools while coordinating with systems engineers to ensure compliance with project requirements and licensing bases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Proficiency with engineering hand calculations required.
• Experience in CFD analysis using STAR-CCM+ or Fluent.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical concepts and SSC designs for nuclear products.
• Perform CFD, thermal, hydraulic and structural analyses to meet specs.
• Create design basis docs, reports, calculations and drawings.
• Develop V&V plans for analytical tools and support tool qualification.
• Provide independent reviews of engineering deliverables.
