Job summary

Volkert Inc. in North Alabama is seeking Level 1, Level 2, and Sr. CEI Inspectors with ALDOT certifications to support Gulf Region projects.

You will inspect for compliance, test materials, monitor contractor operations, document pay records, and coordinate with stakeholders to minimize delays. The role requires a high school diploma, valid driver's license, ability to pass drug tests, and willingness to work nights and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• ALDOT certifications a plus but not required.
• Two years of construction inspection experience, including one year in bridge/roadway work.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Must be able to perform moderate physical activity and work nights/weekends as required.
• Must be able to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Inspection for compliance with contract documents, standards, and specifications.
• Testing of materials; review of plans.
• Maintain daily diaries on project operations and troubleshoot issues to mitigate delays.
• Monitor contractor's daily operations.
• Document pay records and perform construction calculations.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, utility owners, and property owners to minimize delays and maximize progress.
• Run soil/base density tests and test concrete on-site.
