Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking CEI Inspectors for the Southeast Region in Atlanta, GA. The role supports Project Engineers by performing roadway and bridge inspections, materials testing, and documentation to ensure plan compliance.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and relevant inspection experience, with potential for leadership on smaller projects. GDOT knowledge and driver’s license are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of construction inspection experience, with at least one year in bridge/roadway work.
• Engineer Intern with Civil Engineering degree preferred.
• Knowledge of GDOT specs and highway construction practices.
• Ability to read roadway construction plans.
• Certifications GDOT F/CON, GDOT WECS, GSWCC Level 1A, Advanced Traffic Control preferred.
• Daytime shifts; some night/weekend shifts.
• Valid driver's license and clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Perform roadway and bridge inspections and field tests.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and document test results.
• Monitor on-site activity and ensure compliance with plans and specs.
• Coordinate with Project Administrator and other inspectors.
• Lead junior inspectors or manage smaller projects when assigned.
• Maintain safety and quality throughout construction.
