Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking experienced Senior level and entry level CEI Inspectors for the Southeast Region, based in Atlanta, GA.

The CEI Inspector supports project engineers by performing roadway and bridge construction inspections, materials testing, and documentation to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Inspectors oversee asphalt, concrete, and traffic control, may lead junior inspectors, and manage smaller projects such as resurfacing and bridge maintenance.

Qualifications

• Two years of construction inspection experience, one year in bridge and/or roadway construction.
• Engineer Intern with Civil Engineering degree.
• Knowledge of GDOT specifications and highway construction practices.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screening and hold a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Making and checking construction related computations.
• Inspecting construction work and monitoring on-site activity.
• Conducting field tests, sampling materials, and verifying completed work meets plans, specs, and standards.
• Writes daily inspection reports, performs verification testing, and documents test results and observations.
• Assists in all types of record keeping and field measurements, as needed.
• Work is performed under the general supervision of the Project Administrator.
