Job summary

Volkert Inc. in Atlanta, GA is seeking CEI Inspectors at senior and entry levels to support the Southeast Region. You will inspect roadway and bridge construction, perform materials testing, and document progress to ensure compliance with plans.

A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, along with GDOT knowledge and certifications. Responsibilities include field tests, reporting, and coordination with the Project Administrator to maintain quality and progress on projects.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years of construction inspection experience, including bridge/roadway.
• Engineer Intern with Civil Engineering degree.
• Knowledge of GDOT specifications and standards for highway construction.
• Ability to read roadway construction plans.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain MVR.
• Pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Flexibility for daytime shifts, with occasional night/weekend shifts.
• Certifications: GDOT F/CON, GDOT WECS, GSWCC Level 1A, Advanced Traffic Control.

Responsibilities

• Make and check construction-related computations.
• Inspect construction work and monitor on-site activity.
• Conduct field tests and sampling; verify work meets plans and specs.
• Write daily inspection reports and document test results.
• Assist in record keeping and field measurements as needed.
• Work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator.
