Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking experienced CEI Inspectors for the Southeast Region, based in Atlanta, GA. The role involves supporting Project Engineers by inspecting roadway and bridge construction, testing materials, and ensuring compliance with plans and specs.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or equivalent, and relevant inspection experience. Travel and day shifts are typical, with some night/weekend work as needed. Join a team focused on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years of construction inspection experience, with at least one year in bridge or roadway work.
• Engineer Intern with Civil Engineering degree.
• Knowledge of GDOT specifications and standard highway practices.

Responsibilities

• Make and check construction-related computations.
• Inspect construction work and monitor on-site activity.
• Conduct field tests, sample materials, and verify work meets plans and specs.
• Write daily inspection reports and document test results.
• Assist in record keeping and field measurements as needed.
• Work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator.
