Job summary

Volkert Inc. in Atlanta, GA is seeking experienced Senior level and entry level CEI Inspectors to support the Southeast Region.

Inspectors will assist Project Engineers and Project Administrators by performing roadway and bridge construction inspections, materials testing, and documenting compliance with plans and specs. Responsibilities include field measurements, reporting, and coordinating with the Project Administrator to ensure quality and progress.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of construction inspection experience, with one year in bridge/roadway construction.
• Engineer Intern with Civil Engineering degree or progress toward licensure preferred.
• Knowledge of GDOT specifications and typical highway construction practices.
• Ability to read and understand roadway construction plans.
• Valid driver’s license and pass pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Make and check construction-related computations.
• Inspect construction work and monitor on-site activity.
• Conduct field tests, sample materials, and verify workmanship against plans and specs.
• Write daily inspection reports and document test results.
• Assist with record keeping and field measurements as needed.
• Work under the supervision of the Project Administrator.
