Insurance Information Institute, Inc. is seeking a Senior Underwriter, Primary Casualty to develop and manage a profitable primary casualty book for IFG Companies.

This experienced underwriter will build strong relationships with producers to generate quality submissions and profitable long‑term underwriting results, while leveraging advanced rating tools and analytics. The role supports new and renewal business, ensures compliance with underwriting guidelines and authority, and contributes to

Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years of commercial primary casualty underwriting experience with knowledge of commercial primary casualty coverages.
• Bachelor’s degree from a U.S. college/university, with a major or coursework in insurance, risk management, economics, actuarial science or related fields.
• A CPCU or other relevant insurance designation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Meeting and working with producers in assigned territories to present high‑quality submission opportunities for quoting.
• Identify and select suitable submissions for quoting using predictive analytics, loss history and data.
• Determine pricing, structure and coverage terms following underwriting guidelines and appetite guidance.
• Maintain excellent communication with producers about product line offerings and appetite.
• Assist marketing efforts by providing feedback on competitors and products.
• Provide or seek referral counsel for risk acceptance, pricing and terms as appropriate.
• Monitor new business performance and undertake underwriter training and mentoring as needed.
• Renewal actions: monitor performance, prepare renewal quotes, communicate expectations to producers.
