Job summary

IFG Companies seeks a Senior Underwriter, Primary Casualty, to develop and manage a profitable book of primary casualty business. This role builds strong relationships with wholesale producers to secure high-quality submissions and favorable terms, while applying IFG underwriting tools and guidelines.

You will evaluate new and renewal submissions, set pricing and coverage terms, and mentor junior underwriters.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of commercial primary casualty underwriting experience.
• Bachelor's degree from a US college/university (insurance, risk management, economics, actuarial science or related).
• CPCU or other relevant insurance designations are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Meet with producers to source high-quality submissions for quoting.
• Identify submissions to quote using analytics and third‑party data.
• Determine pricing, structure and coverage terms with guidelines.
• Maintain communication with producers and promote IFG product lines.
• Mentor new underwriters and support staff as needed.
• Monitor renewal performance and prepare renewal quotes in advance.
• Collaborate with other underwriters and units on risk acceptance and terms.
