Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a CAD Drafter III to develop, maintain, and release complex 3D models and 2D drawings for ground support equipment and launch-related hardware. You will use Creo Parametric 12 and Windchill PLM to create, manage, and annotate Model-Based Definitions across mechanical, structural, fluid, and electrical disciplines.

You will lead design efforts, author ECRs, and support AI-assisted design tools to improve quality and productivity in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• 2-year AS degree in CAD/Mechanical Tech or 4-year BS in Mechanical/Aerospace or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a technical design role.
• Expertise with PTC Creo Parametric and Windchill PLM.
• Experience creating fabrication and installation drawings for complex assemblies.
• Strong knowledge of ASME Y14.100, Y14.5, Y14.41.

Responsibilities

• Own complex design tasks and subsystems using Creo Parametric 12 and Windchill PLM.
• Develop and maintain advanced MBD datasets and support changes via ECRs.
• Lead mechanical/structural design, piping, electrical routing and enclosure layouts.
• Manage large CAD assemblies with advanced techniques and topology optimization.
• Prepare and review drawings for release; perform peer reviews.
• Mentor junior drafters and contribute to tool/process development.
• Support schedule and budget planning for ground systems hardware.
