Job summary

Blue Origin LLC seeks a CAD Drafter II to develop and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings for ground support equipment across mechanical, fluid, and electrical disciplines. You will generate Model-Based Definition data and support design reviews under senior mentors.

Using Creo Parametric 12 and Windchill PLM, you’ll contribute to safe, repeatable spaceflight by aligning with ASME Y14 standards and company processes in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• 2-year AS degree in CAD/Engineering Tech or equivalent.
• Foundational GD&T knowledge.
• Experience drafting for aerospace, automotive, marine, or similar structures and systems.
• Mechanical design/3D modeling experience using parametric software.
• Familiarity with ASME Y14 series drafting standards.
• Ability to learn new tools and adapt to evolving tech.
• US citizenship or eligible to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detail part and assembly models and drawings using Creo Parametric 12 and Windchill PLM under senior guidance.
• Support Model-Based Definition datasets with 3D annotations and PMI.
• Assist with mechanical/structural layouts including steel frameworks and machines.
• Support piping/tubing design and electrical enclosure layouts.
• Prepare design layouts and modify designs while identifying discrepancies.
• Ensure drawings meet ASME Y14.100/ Y14.5/ Y14.41 standards and release guidelines.
• Assist in Windchill PLM structure, revisions, and change notices.
• Leverage AI-assisted design tools to improve productivity and quality.
