Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an entry-level CAD Drafter I to join the Ground Support Development Engineering Services CAD Support team. You will create 3D models and 2D drawings, assist with Model-Based Definition data, and support mechanical, fluid, and electrical system layouts under senior guidance.

You will learn new tools and processes through structured onboarding, training, and rotational projects across core disciplines, contributing to spaceflight safety and cost reduction goals.

Qualifications

• 2-year AS degree in CAD, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting & Design Technology, or equivalent technical certification
• Foundational GD&T experience
• Knowledge of aerospace/structural/mechanical/electrical systems design

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detail part and assembly models and drawings using PTC Creo Parametric 12 and Windchill PLM under guidance
• Support Model-Based Definition datasets with 3D annotations and PMI
• Assist with mechanical/structural layouts including steel frameworks and platforms
• Support fluid system design including piping and tubing layouts using Creo Piping extension
• Contribute to electrical system design including enclosure layouts and cable routing
• Prepare and modify designs, identify discrepancies
• Review drawings for compliance with standards and notes
• Apply ASME Y14.100, Y14.5, Y14.41 standards to data
• Support Windchill product structure and change notice workflows
• Leverage AI-assisted design tools to improve productivity
• Participate in drawing check activities under supervision
