Job summary

CLA is seeking a Senior to join our CAAS (Client Accounting & Advisory Services) team supporting the Higher Education Industry from Oak Brook, IL; King of Prussia, PA; Austin, TX; Houston, TX; or Minneapolis, MN.

You will lead client service, oversee day-to-day transactions, month-end close, and quarterly/annual processing while supervising Associates and Analysts. The role emphasizes accuracy, process improvement, and collaboration across campuses and departments.

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant accounting/financial experience required.
• Bachelor's degree required; combination of related experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Development and understanding of each client’s business operations and chart of accounts. Manage multiple clients and a variety of software on a daily/weekly monthly basis.
• Lead coordination and processing of accounts payable, cash disbursements, accounts receivable, cash receipts and payroll posting/recording.
• Coordinate and review month-end reconciliations (prepaids, A/R, fixed assets, A/P, accruals) and prepare/review financial statements.
• Complete sales tax returns, Form 1099s and prepare audit workpapers and other client tax work papers as requested.
• Oversee workflow and quality of work of Associates and Analysts; supervise and ensure efficiency and quality of work.
• Assist with internal audit, due diligence, system selection and other consultative projects.
