Job summary

CLA is seeking an Assistant Controller for our Higher Education Accounting and Advisory Service (CAAS) Practice. This role supports client accounting teams and provides expert guidance on accounting and finance engagements in multiple locations, including King of Prussia, PA.

You will manage project timelines, prepare financial statements, and advise on best practices while staying current with accounting standards and industry events.

Qualifications

• 6 years of relevant accounting/financial experience.
• Experience in the Higher Education industry is strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree required; combination of related experience may be accepted.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficiency in accounting software (listed above).

Responsibilities

• Perform Assistant Controller functions for the client’s accounting services team.
• Act as a consultant and advisor on accounting and finance engagements.
• Provide project management by managing multiple clients, work, and deadlines.
• Prepare and analyze client financial statements and make recommendations.
• Foster and build opportunities for clients and communities.
• Attend industry events and training to stay industry-enabled.
• Maintain knowledge of policies, directives, and current accounting standards.
