Job summary

Piermont Bank is seeking a seasoned C&I Relationship Manager to drive growth in SMB lending across the Greater New York and New Jersey markets. You will build client relationships, analyze financing opportunities, structure complex credit transactions, and monitor risk and profitability in a cloud-native banking environment.

The role requires formal credit training and a bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting, with MBA preferred.

Qualifications

• Formal Credit training is required.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, credit-related field.
• MBA and/or significant experience in consumer and commercial finance.
• Minimum five years with direct experience with C&I lending (loan sizes $1M-$10M).
• Advanced knowledge in core and specialty lending products and services.
• Capital Call Lending and venture-backed lending experience is a plus.
• Strong referral network and senior-level relationship ability.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Robust credit, industrial, and risk acumen.
• Ability to interpret complex business and regulatory requirements.
• Make robust decisions considering organizational cross-functionality.

Responsibilities

• Identify new SMB relationships for working capital lending.
• Identify and structure commercial credit transactions.
• Oversee preparation of consolidated credit and portfolio information.
• Analyze credit and risk impacts of new proposals and trends.
• Drive profitability by evaluating financial impact and pricing.
• Monitor credit quality within the existing portfolio.
• Participate in joint calls with partners to support product sales.
