Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Senior Business Development Engineer to support Army acquisitions. You will translate Army requirements into technically sound, field-ready solutions and collaborate with engineering and business development teams.

Frequent travel (50%) to DoD sites and events is required; remote work is possible depending on location. Experience with SDRs, TCP/IP, and Linux, plus a SECRET clearance or ability to obtain one, is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related C5ISR field with at least 5 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma/GED with at least 9 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience with Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based tactical routing protocols, and tactical communication systems.
• Proficiency with RF instruments (signal generators, spectrum analyzers).
• Willingness to travel frequently (50%) to customer sites and DoD environments.
• Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain within 15 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Analyze US Army Capability Set requirements and Mission Command network design goals to map operational gaps to our tactical radio capabilities.
• Lead technical planning, network configuration, and live-on-the-air execution of field trials and evaluations with BD and Applications Engineering teams.
• Collaborate to leverage large-scale testing and competitive benchmarking data to ensure architectures are sound.
• Engage Army program managers, S&T leads, and warfare centers to translate advanced technology capabilities into program requirements.
• Serve as technical anchor for RFI/RFP response, providing direction and ensuring proposal accuracy and alignment.
