Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Senior Business Development Engineer, US Army, to translate Army requirements into technically sound, winnable solutions. You will collaborate with Engineering and BD teams to demonstrate interoperability of our tactical portfolio for Army evaluation teams.

You will travel up to 50% for meetings, events, and demonstrations, and the role supports 100% remote work depending on location. A SECRET clearance and US citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, CS, Network Engineering, or related C5ISR field with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience with Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based tactical routing protocols, and tactical communication systems.
• Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain within 15 months of hire.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
• Willingness to travel frequently (50%) to customer sites and DoD environments.
• Background check and drug test clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze US Army Capability Set requirements and Mission Command network design goals to map operational gaps to our tactical radio capabilities.
• Conduct market research to identify end-to-end product solutions and synergies with emerging industry partners; collaborate with the Applications Engineering team to test and evaluate architectures.
• Design and build demonstrations tailored to the Army, highlighting future tactical edge network possibilities.
• Lead technical planning, network configuration, and live-on-the-air execution of field trials and evaluations with BD and Applications Engineering teams.
• Collaborate to leverage large-scale testing and competitive benchmarking data to ensure architectures are sound.
• Engage Army program managers, S&T leads, and warfare centers to translate advanced technology capabilities into program requirements.
• Align with the Business Development team to set strategic priorities and support technical needs.
• Serve as technical anchor for RFI/RFP response, providing direction and ensuring proposal accuracy and alignment.
• Build trusted advisory relationships with Chief Engineers, SMEs, and technical evaluators across the Army.
• Translate Army feedback into actionable product roadmaps and track progress to meet operational needs.
