Job summary

Motorola Solutions, together with Silvus Technologies, seeks a Senior Business Development Engineer for US Army engagements. You will translate Army requirements into technically sound, interoperable solutions and lead demonstrations of our tactical communications portfolio. The role requires 5+ years in SDRs/tactical networks, strong Army procurement knowledge, and frequent travel (50%).

A SECRET clearance or ability to obtain within 15 months is essential; U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or computer field; or HS diploma with 9+ years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience with Software-Defined Radios (SDRs) and IP-based routing for tactical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of US Army procurement pathways and Army Futures Command priorities.
  • Proficiency with RF instruments (signal generators, spectrum analyzers) for field demonstrations.
  • Willingness to travel frequently (50%) to customer sites and DoD environments.
  • Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain within 15 months of hire; U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Background check and drug test clearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze US Army Capability Set requirements and map gaps to our tactical radio capabilities.
  • Conduct market research to identify end-to-end product solutions and synergies with partners.
  • Design and build demonstrations tailored to the Army and field-test architectures.
  • Lead technical planning, network configuration, and live field trials with BD and Applications Engineering teams.
  • Collaborate to leverage testing data to ensure sound architectures.
  • Engage Army program managers and warfare centers to translate tech capabilities into requirements.
  • Support RFI/RFP responses with technical direction and accuracy.
