Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an Operating Engineer to maintain mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across assigned properties. You will perform rounds, preventive and corrective maintenance, and safety inspections to ensure reliable operations.

Essential duties include HVAC/chilled water systems, energy management, repairs to building infrastructure, and adherence to C&W safety standards. The role requires 5–7 years of relevant experience and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Requires five to seven years of experience.
• Experience operating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a commercial property setting.
• Must meet safety and regulatory standards as part of daily maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing, electrical, or HVAC maintenance for buildings, including chillers, DX units, pumps, and cooling towers.
• Monitor and adjust mechanical systems and energy management.
• Repair doors, ceilings, plumbing fixtures and other fittings.
• Conduct preventive maintenance per standards and manufacturers' guidelines.
• Inspect engine and electrical rooms, generators, fire pumps, and lighting; report issues.
• Ensure safe egress and conduct fire and life safety inspections.
• Document activities and respond to emergencies.
• Comply with codes and safety training.
• Adhere to dress code and maintain neat appearance.
