Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an Operating Engineer to maintain and operate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across assigned properties. Responsibilities include rounds, preventive maintenance, and safety compliance to ensure comfortable, safe environments for occupants.

The role requires 5+ years of relevant experience, appropriate trade licenses, and basic computing skills. This position is on-site with potential for shift work and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; apprentice or trade school preferred.
• 5+ years of related work experience in operating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a commercial property setting.
• Appropriate licenses/permits for trade may be required (Journeyman/Master Electrician, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing, electrical, or HVAC duties for buildings.
• Maintain heating equipment, chillers, pumps, and air distribution systems.
• Conduct rounds, preventive and corrective maintenance, and safety inspections.
• Repair and replace fixtures, doors, ceilings, and signage; ensure clean, unobstructed spaces.
• Respond to emergencies and document activities for supervisor.
