Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Lead Operating Engineer to ensure efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems at the assigned facility. This role may operate without a Chief Engineer on-site and can involve supervising maintenance staff depending on building size.

You will perform preventive maintenance, respond to emergencies, manage reports, and ensure compliance with codes while coordinating with contractors to keep systems reliable and energy efficient.

Qualifications

• Ability to supervise maintenance staff when applicable and coordinate maintenance activities

Responsibilities

• Assist with or conduct daily operations and maintenance of MEP systems and general maintenance for the buildings
• Supervise maintenance staff when applicable and assign/monitor maintenance activities and projects
• Perform preventive maintenance duties including changing filters, lubricating motors, replacing lamps and fixtures, inspecting belts and bearings
• Develop and maintain building-specific maintenance procedures
• Coordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors and technicians
• Maintain stock and inventory control
• Respond to emergencies and customer concerns
• Ensure compliance with codes and safety directives
• Submit monthly building operation reports
