Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee the efficient operation and maintenance of MEP systems in a commercial property. This role may be the sole engineer on-site and may supervise maintenance staff as needed.

Responsibilities include daily operations, preventive maintenance, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring compliance with codes and company policies. Strong communication and technical skills are essential, with relevant licenses and EPA 608 certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent or higher.
• 5+ years of related trade experience in operating MEP systems.
• Appropriate trade licenses and permits as required.
• EPA Section 608 universal refrigerants certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for the building.
• Supervise maintenance staff when applicable and coordinate activities.
• Perform preventive maintenance including filters, bearings, belts and lamps.
• Develop improvements to preventive maintenance programs.
• Coordinate with contractors and manage inventory and parts.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain safety and compliance.
