Job summary

Lincoln Property Company seeks a Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering team, overseeing building maintenance, repair, and operations to ensure tenant satisfaction, safety, and efficiency.

This 100% in-office role requires extensive HVAC, electrical, and plumbing expertise, strong supervisory skills, budgeting, safety compliance, and the ability to coordinate with tenants and vendors to maintain smooth operations.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• At least ten years of industry-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• At least five years of supervisory, training, and mentoring experience including performance appraisals.
• CFC Certification preferred or willingness to obtain as requested; engineering and trade licenses required according to local, state, or national requirements.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, energy management software systems, CMMS, and other building operational platforms.
• Ability to travel daily to assigned properties as necessary.
• Advanced knowledge of HVAC, BAS, fire protection, and life safety systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, capital budgeting, and energy management skills/practices.
• Strong contract administration and project management skills.
• Familiar with blueprints and code requirements.
• Ability to act as primary point of contact for building emergencies, after-hours work.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of building maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Monitor building energy usage and ensure efficient operations.
• Oversee contractor work and manage tenant improvement projects.
• Prepare budgets and control inventory and purchasing.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate Engineering staff; develop and implement performance goals and staff development plans.
• Collaborate with tenants, contractors, and property managers to ensure reliable building operations and address tenant issues.
• Work with vendors to identify scopes of work and oversee contract terms and quality control.
• Conduct inspections to ensure systems operate efficiently; maintain service logs and compliance logs.
• Follow safety protocols and enforce OSHA, NEC, NFC, NFPA regulations; manage lockout/tagout and safety inspections.
• Communicate with teammates, leadership, vendors, tenants, and client employees in a professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
