Job summary

Lincoln Property Company in Plano, TX seeks a Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering team, oversee maintenance, repairs, and operations ensuring tenant satisfaction, safety, and efficiency.

Responsibilities include managing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, budgeting, vendor oversight, and safety compliance with OSHA/NFPA. Requires extensive leadership experience and industry knowledge; position is on-site with daily travel to properties as needed.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• At least ten years of industry-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• At least five years of supervisory, training, and mentoring experience including performance appraisals.
• CFC Certification preferred or willingness to obtain; engineering and trade licenses required as per local/state/national requirements.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, energy management software, CMMS, and other building operation platforms.
• Ability to travel daily to assigned properties as necessary.
• Advanced knowledge of HVAC, BAS, fire protection, and life safety systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, budgeting, and energy management skills.
• Strong contract administration and project management skills.
• Familiar with fire/life safety equipment/procedures.
• Proven track record of customer service and communication with tenants/vendors/contractors.
• Familiarity with blueprints and code requirements.
• Ability to act as primary contact/first responder for emergencies; after-hours work as needed.
• English reading/writing to understand manuals and write reports.

Responsibilities

• Manage building maintenance including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Monitor building energy usage and ensure efficient operations.
• Oversee contractor work and tenant improvement projects.
• Prepare budgets; control inventory and purchasing.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate Engineering staff; develop performance goals and staff development plans.
• Collaborate with tenants, contractors, and property managers to ensure reliable operations.
• As assigned, work with vendors to identify scopes of work and oversee compliance with contracts.
• Conduct inspections to ensure systems operate efficiently; maintain documentation and logs.
• Enforce OSHA/NFPA regulations; manage safety programs and training.
• Serve as primary point of contact for emergencies; respond after hours when needed.
