Job summary

Lincoln Property Company seeks a Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering team responsible for building maintenance, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems across properties in the Charlotte area.

You will supervise staff, manage budgets, coordinate with tenants and vendors, and ensure safety, compliance with OSHA/NEC/NFPA, and effective operation of building systems. This 100% in-office role requires strong leadership and hands-on expertise.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• At least ten years of industry-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Engineering team to oversee building maintenance, repair, and operations.
• Monitor and optimize energy consumption across properties.
• Oversee contractor work and tenant improvement projects.
• Prepare budgets and manage inventory/purchasing.
• Supervise and develop Engineering staff; conduct performance appraisals.
• Coordinate with tenants, vendors, and property managers for smooth operations.
• Ensure safety compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFPA; manage lockout/tagout program.
• Maintain detailed logs and inspections for building systems.
• Respond to emergencies as primary point of contact.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
