Job summary

Lincoln Property Company seeks a Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering team overseeing maintenance, safety, and building efficiency in Salt Lake City, UT. The role ensures tenant satisfaction and compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating with vendors, managing budgets and energy programs, and ensuring high reliability of mechanical and electrical systems. 100% in-office with potential for after-hours support.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• At least ten years of industry experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• At least five years of supervisory, training, and mentoring experience including performance appraisals.
• CFC Certification preferred or willingness to obtain; licenses as required by local/state/national rules.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, energy management software, CMMS, and building platforms.
• Ability to travel daily to assigned properties.
• Advanced knowledge of HVAC, BAS, fire protection, and life-safety systems.
• Strong contract administration and project management skills.
• Familiar with blueprints and code requirements.
• Ability to be primary contact/first responder for building emergencies; after-hours work possible.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of building maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Monitor building energy usage and ensure efficient operations.
• Oversee contractor work and tenant improvement projects.
• Prepare budgets; control inventory and purchasing.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate Engineering staff; develop performance goals.
• Collaborate with tenants, contractors, and property managers to ensure reliable building operations.
• Oversee safety compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFPA; manage lockout/tagout and safety training.
• Inspect systems; maintain logs and reports for equipment and safety compliance.
• Communicate professionally with teammates, leadership, vendors, tenants, and clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
