Job summary

Lincoln Property Company in Washington, DC is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering team, oversee maintenance across HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, and manage tenant relations to ensure safety, efficiency, and high tenant satisfaction.

The role requires extensive leadership experience, strong knowledge of energy management and life-safety systems, and a commitment to safety protocols. The position is office-based with opportunities to coordinate with contractors and vendors.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• At least ten years of industry-related experience.
• At least five years supervisory and mentoring experience.
• CFC Certification preferred or willingness to obtain; licenses as required.
• Knowledge of energy management software and CMMS.
• Ability to travel daily to properties.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, BAS, fire protection, and life safety systems.
• Excellent customer service with tenants and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Manage building maintenance including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Monitor building energy usage and ensure efficient operations.
• Oversee contractor work and tenant improvement projects.
• Prepare budgets; control inventory and purchasing.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate Engineering staff; develop performance goals and staff development plans.
• Coordinate with tenants, contractors, and property managers to ensure reliable building operations.
• Oversee safety programs and ensure OSHA/NFPA compliance.
• Maintain documentation and service logs for building equipment and compliance logs.
• Communicate professionally with teammates, leadership, vendors, tenants, and client employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
