Job summary

Lincoln Property Company seeks a Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering team, overseeing building maintenance, repairs, and operations to ensure tenant satisfaction, safety, and efficiency. The role focuses on supervising staff, budgeting, contractor oversight, and ensuring code compliance.

The position is 100% in-office and requires strong HVAC, BAS, and life-safety knowledge, with daily property travel and after-hours availability as needed.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Ten years of industry-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• At least five years of supervisory experience including performance appraisals.
• CFC Certification preferred or willingness to obtain; engineering and trade licenses required.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, energy management software, CMMS, and other building platforms.
• Ability to travel daily to assigned properties.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, BAS, fire protection, and life safety systems.
• Strong contract administration and project management skills.
• Familiar with blueprints and code requirements.
• Ability to act as primary contact for building emergencies, including after-hours work.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of building maintenance (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• Monitor energy usage and ensure efficient operations.
• Oversee contractor work and tenant improvement projects.
• Prepare budgets; control inventory and purchasing.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate Engineering staff; develop performance goals.
• Collaborate with tenants, contractors, and property managers.
• Oversee safety protocols and OSHA/NFPA compliance.
• Maintain detailed service and compliance logs.
