Job summary

CSG Consultants in California is seeking a qualified Building Official to oversee the client jurisdiction's Building Department. You will supervise staff, ensure compliance with state and federal construction regulations, read and interpret codes, and represent the firm in contract negotiations.

The role requires ICC Building Official certification, several years of leadership experience, a proactive communicator, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• ICC Building Official certification (required)
• 2+ years’ Building Official experience in public/private agencies
• High school diploma or GED
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and driving record with CA license

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Building Department and staff
• Supervise, recruit, and train assigned staff
• Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations and local ordinances
• Read, interpret, and apply codes and regulations
• Represent CSG in client contract negotiations
• Administer contracted building department services to client jurisdictions
• Maintain positive image for client, jurisdiction and CSG
