Job summary

SAFEbuilt, Inc. is seeking a Building Official to join our team of professionals. This role focuses on meeting state and local code requirements, applying building codes, and serving as liaison with clients to ensure top-tier service.

Ideal candidate holds ICC Inspector certifications, has plan review and inspection experience for commercial and residential structures, and can manage department activities. The position offers opportunities for growth and exposure to diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of local building code regulations, policies and procedures.
• Solid computer skills and experience using MS Office programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exercise initiative and display independent judgment.
• Be self-directed and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Meet all state and locally mandated code compliance and reporting requirements.
• Apply knowledge of building codes, policies, and procedures to daily building department work.
• Serve as primary liaison with clients to ensure high-level customer service.
• Attend department and client meetings as required.
• Perform plan reviews for commercial and residential structures.
• Provide inspection support as needed.
