Job summary

CSG Consultants is seeking an experienced Building Inspector lead to supervise inspectors and coordinate field inspections of industrial, commercial, and residential buildings for code compliance. You will train staff, review plans for minor projects, and resolve violations in collaboration with the Building Official.

Candidates should have ICC certifications and 10+ years in building inspection, with a CA driver’s license.

Qualifications

ICC certifications must be maintained as a condition of employment.
10+ years of Building Inspection experience with a private or public agency preferred.
5+ years of experience as a Building Inspector II or equivalent.
Must possess a valid California driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform field inspections of industrial, commercial and residential buildings to ensure code compliance.
Inspect during construction and remodeling to verify plans and specifications meet codes.
Supervise and lay out work for inspectors; train and evaluate staff in procedures and code interpretations.
Provide plan checking services for minor projects and communicate required corrections to contractors.
Investigate and resolve violations; coordinate with Building Official on enforcement actions.
Travel to client sites and maintain accurate records using MS Office tools.
