Job summary

SAFEbuilt is seeking a qualified Building Official to join our team. You will ensure code compliance, manage plan reviews, and supervise building department staff across multiple jurisdictions.

Ideal candidates have ICC Building Official certification, multiple ICC inspector certifications, and proven experience in plan review and client-focused service delivery. This on-site role offers diverse projects and career progression.

Qualifications

• ICC Building Official certification is required.
• ICC Inspector certifications in multiple trades.
• Client and team management experience in a building department setting.
• Inspection and Plan review experience for commercial and residential structures.

Responsibilities

• Meet all state and locally mandated code compliance and reporting requirements.
• Apply knowledge of building codes, policies, and procedures to day-to-day functions of the building department.
• Serve as primary liaison with clients and deliver high-level customer service.
• Attend department and community meetings as required by the client.
• Perform plan reviews for commercial and residential structures.
• Provide inspection support as needed.
• Supervise building department staff.
